The character of Macbeth is known as a classic example of a Shakespearean tragic leading man. There are many factors which contribute to the degeneration of Macbeth which three will probably be discussed. The three points which in turn contribute considerably to Macbeth's degeneration are the prophecy that was told to him by witches, just how Lady Macbeth influenced and manipulated Macbeth's judgment, and lastly Macbeth's long time ambition which will drove his desire to be ruler. Macbeth's developing character degenerates from a noble guy to violent individual. The prophecies which are told by witches were one of the elements which written for the degeneration of his character. Whether it had not been for the nurses telling him that having been to be Thane of Cawdor, Thane of Glamis, and King of Scotland, Macbeth would still be his ordinary self. Following Banquo and Macbeth listen to these prophecies Banquo seems mildly amused by the witches' predictions about Macbeth and himself, although Macbeth is usually stunned and desires to hear more about how he can be Full of Scotland.
