Following reading " The Scarlet Ibis” by simply James Hurst and " Raymond's Run” by Toni Cade Bambara, there are some comparison that stood out. Both equally stories incorporate disabled brothers. Also, both stories contain characters that act out of pride. The stories have different settings and still have characters with different motives. The key lesson on this essay is not to allow pride take over your figure.

There are a few commonalities the two tales share. Initially, both testimonies involve a character with disabilities. In " The Scarlet Ibis” Doodle's disabilities will be described, " The doctor stated he should not get to excited, too warm, too cold, or perhaps too fatigued and that he must always be cured gently. A long list of don'ts went with him…” In " Raymond's Run” Squeaky describes Raymond, " But since any deceive can see he's much larger and he's older as well. But a lot of people call him my very little brother cause he requires looking after cause he's not quite right. ” These two quotes display a likeness in the two stories by simply explaining the disabilities with each figure, Doodle and Raymond. An additional similarity both stories reveal has to do with pleasure. In the two stories, the primary character's activities are derived from pride. In " Raymond's Run” Squeaky explains, " There is no observe meet that we don't win the first place medal…The big kids call me personally mercury trigger I'm the swiftest thing in the neighborhood…In the first place, nobody can beat me and that's most there is to it. ” In " The scarlet Ibis” the narrator clarifies, " When ever doodle was five years of age, I was uncomfortable at having a brother of these age who also couldn't walk, so I attempted to teach him…I did not understand then that pride is a marvellous, terrible issue, a seeds that holds two pampre, life and death. ” These two rates show us a similarity mainly because they make clear how both equally characters action and think they method they do because of pride. As you can see, there are some commonalities the two tales share.
